BALTIMORE, Aug. 15 /EMWNews/ -- Joe Corbi's -- http://www.joecorbi.com/ -- a food fundraising company, has donated 6,000 pizzas to the Maryland Food Bank. The reason for the donation is to help with the summer food shortage the Maryland Food Bank is having. "The condition right now -- we are calling it a crisis mode, and the need has grown in the community to that as quickly as we get this food in, it's going out the door," says Deborah Flateman, Chief Executive Officer of the Maryland Food Bank, who explains the need for food donations. The Maryland Food Bank provides food to over 1,000 soup kitchens, shelters, and pantries throughout the state of Maryland. Joe Corbi's Fundraising has been a longtime partner with the food bank. In March, Joe Corbi's donated 10,000 pizzas to benefit the Harvest for the Hungry Spring Food Drive. Harvest for the Hungry is a volunteer effort by many different organizations that provides food to groups that help fight hunger in Maryland, including the Maryland Food Bank and its redistribution organizations. Joe Corbi's Fundraising has helped schools, sports teams, churches, youth groups, choirs, scout troops, and other organizations across the U.S. raise millions of dollars through pizza kit fundraisers -- http://www.joecorbi.com/programs/pizzakit/. The popular pizza kit fundraising pioneer also offers a direct purchase program at http://www.joecorbisdirect.com/ where people can purchase smaller amounts of products they like without having to know a fundraiser to support or support a fundraiser while living in a different region by naming the organization of their choice when ordering online.
