My behaviour as a result of an un diagnosed mental illness was causing stress and grief in the family. I was turning to alcohol to help solve my problems. And then drugs.
Life was on a terrible path and continuing would have only broke the family apart.
Rehabilitation didn’t work. I was struggling all the time. Not until recently I have succumb to the addiction and accepted my fate as being an alcoholic. I’ve since made positive steps and continue to accept my struggles. Unfortunately it came at the cost of my job, my friends, my health, my finances, my life and almost my family.
I am continuing to get better every day. My wife and I are still madly in love and our kids have there father.
We carrently live with my mother and step father and they have helped so much. However living here needs to change. I find living with my alcoholic step father a real struggle. My family and I need to get away from here. A fresh start.
