I am a physically and mentally disabled man in my sixties. I would like to retire after years of struggle both with my disabilities and my and my recovery from Substance Use Disorder. I don’t need much, just a chance to settle down somewhere peaceful and out of the urban sprawl. A common dream I suppose and after working hard since I was 15, one I dream about.
Being disabled is not the burden one would think. I can live on what I have but that’s about it. Saving money with the cost of living here is next to impossible. Being able to move would mean the world to me after bouncing around the country for 40 years. I need enough for second hand furniture and first and last month’s rent. Not much at all. We speak of gratitude daily in recovery and if this could be my last move, there aren’t words in the language to describe my gratitude. Every day is a treasure today with your help.
