CALGARY, ALBERTA, MEDIA ADVISORY–(EMWNews – July 24, 2008) – Good Earth Coffeehouse and Bakery, a Calgary-based success story is proud to announce that it has opened its first cafe in the BC market, located at Pandosy Village in the Mission district of Kelowna.

“After 17 years of offering Albertans our unique café concept, we are extremely excited by the opening of our first BC location in Kelowna. The new cafe will allow us to serve our great coffee and great food within an environmentally and socially conscious environment to new customers as well as to visiting Albertans who are already fans of Good Earth. We look forward to introducing our new customers to our wide selection of great coffees, cold beverages and tasty, fresh and wholesome food,” said Michael Going, President and Co-founder.

“I think the Kelowna area is the perfect place to open a Good Earth Cafe,” said Shelly Sapieha, the Franchise Operating Partner. “More and more people are familiar with the company, both local and visiting Albertans, and I know they will love the Good Earth concept and service we provide.”
Community relationships remain as much a cornerstone of Good Earth’s brand as good coffee and good food. The new café will donate 50% of its lunch sales on July 26 to KidSport?, a community-based sport charity that provides grants for children to participate in a season of sport of their choice. This ensures that all kids have an even playing field when it comes to accessibility to sport.

Everyone is welcome to the Grand Opening event on July 26. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 11:00 am, when Ron Cannan, M.P., Kelowna-Lake Country will officially open the café. Customers are invited to enjoy free coffee and food sampling all morning, entertainment, a chance to win a $200 Good Earth Gift Card and to share in our support of KidSport?. The Good Earth café is located at 2949 Pandosy Street at Pandosy Village in Kelowna, BC.
