Agreement Extends Klocwork’s Leadership in the Telecommunications Market With Germany’s Largest Manufacturer of Network and Wireless Devices
BURLINGTON, MA–(EMWNews – August 11, 2008) – Klocwork, Inc., the proven leader in automated source code analysis
solutions for improving software security and quality, today announced that
AVM has selected Klocwork Insight to be used in the development of the
software that controls its range of
award-winning routers and wireless devices. With Klocwork, AVM can detect
software defects earlier in the development process to reduce costs and
ensure the reliability and overall quality of its products.
With products available in 60 countries worldwide, AVM places a heavy
emphasis on the quality of the devices they manufacture. As a company
committed to innovation, AVM’s dedicated team of approximately 200
developers is constantly improving the software for their existing product
ranges, as well as developing new software to meet the demands of new and
increasingly complex technology. Looking for a test solution to help them
meet their software quality requirements and accelerate their software
development process, AVM first contacted Emenda Software, Klocwork’s resale
partner in Germany, for an evaluation of the static source code analysis
tool. After a successful integration into their build environment, AVM
initially deployed K7 and based on its initial deployment success, has
since expanded its deployment to another 50 developers for Klocwork
Insight.
“Here at AVM we are constantly developing the software for the hardware we
manufacture,” said AVM’s Head of Core Development Hans-Juergen Ortmann.
“We are committed to quality and Klocwork allows us to ensure that the code
we develop is bug-free before it is checked in. The desktop function is
very helpful in this respect. As wireless and network technology becomes
increasingly complex, Klocwork also helps us speed up the time it takes to
develop new software to meet our customers’ demands.”
“We are seeing increased customer demand to deploy Klocwork at the
developer desktop to allow developers to check-in high quality, bug-free
code,” said Mike Laginski, Klocwork’s chief executive officer. “We
completely understand AVM’s commitment to quality and innovation, and are
pleased to support them as they deploy Klocwork Insight to their
developers’ desktops.”
Klocwork Insight is a leading static source code analysis tool for C, C++
and Java, and the only solution with a Connected Desktop Analysis
capability that enables developers to run the analysis with full system
context right at their desktop, before they check-in their code. Solutions
are available in two versions: Klocwork Insight for
C/C++ and Java and Klocwork Insight for Java.
