Community Members from across the United States show appreciation for the President’s service and patriotism
Washington, D.C, District of Columbia Aug 19, 2024 (EMWNews.com) – Today, Black Women for Kamala (BWFK), a grassroots online organizing community committed to supporting Vice President Kamala Harris for President of the United States, released an open letter signed by over 600 women in over 50 states and U.S. territories. The letter is inspired by BWFK Founder’s vision to honor President Biden for his outstanding 50+ years of service to our great country.
“President Biden’s leadership has been a beacon of hope for Americans of all ages. His policies have empowered women in the workplace, expanded childcare options for families, and created new opportunities for adults to retrain and advance in their careers. From the historic child tax credit that lifted millions of children out of poverty, to initiatives promoting pay equity and family leave, to investments in education and workforce development, the President’s actions have touched lives across generations, for generations to come. Reducing the wealth gap for Black Americans, contributing to a 60% increase in wealth compared to pre-pandemic levels
Achieving the lowest Black unemployment rate on record.
Reducing child poverty to historic lows
Expanding access to quality, affordable healthcare
Advancing voting rights and police accountability
Providing historic funding for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs)
Nominating the first Black woman to the Supreme Court and appointing more Black women to the federal circuit than all previous presidents combined
Signing the Emmett Till Antilynching Act and establishing Juneteenth as a national holiday
Investing over $295 million in infrastructure funding and historic preservation grants to protect places significant to Black history.
Creating the first-ever White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, leading to a 12.4% reduction in homicides across the United States.
