I am deeply grateful for all that the military does to keep my family and I safe, and I always look for ways to show my appreciation. I am asking for help to make life a little easier for our military while they are away from home.
I “adopt” deployed military men and women using an organization called Adopt A US Soldier. These individuals have reached out and asked for someone like me to adopt them as pen pals. They are looking for connections with people back in the US. I email and send letters at least once a week, and I send care packages to them and their units, voluntarily.
This campaign is not connected to Adopt A US Soldier; it is a fund I created on my own so that I can send my adoptees and their units as many packages as possible. The individuals assigned to me could be from anywhere in the country, and they could be deployed anywhere. I chose to utilize the Adopt A US Soldier organization so that I can make personal connections with service members in need.
I enjoy writing emails and letters to the military, and it is very exciting when they are able to respond. I am also very lucky to have amazing community support in my efforts. Many residents and businesses in the surrounding area have been very generous in their donations of items to send in the care packages (hygiene products, snacks, magazines, books, etc.).
Please help let our troops know we support their sacrifices by making a donation of anything you can, and please share this campaign with anyone who feel might be interested in helping.
