CMARK International Announces Approval of Mentor-Protege Agreement

2008-08-19 09:39:00

    COLUMBIA, S.C., Aug. 19 /EMWNews/ -- CMARK International

(Pink Sheets: CMIT) today announced that the Department of Defense (DOD)

has approved a Mentor-Protege Agreement between EMCOR Government Services,

Inc. and CMARK International, Inc. (CMARK).

EMCOR Government Services, Inc. (EGS) is a unit of EMCOR Group, Inc.

(NYSE: EME), a Fortune 500(R) leader in mechanical and electrical

construction, energy infrastructure and facilities services for a diverse

range of businesses. CMARK, the Protege firm, is a Service-Disabled

Veteran-Owned Small Business. CMARK is a long-standing provider of facility

and logistic support services and products to U.S. Government Agencies,

including the DOD.

The DOD Mentor-Protege Program assists small business proteges in

successfully competing for prime contract and subcontract awards by

partnering with large companies, known as Mentors, under individual,

project-based agreements. This program allows both firms to collaborate as

a team and use their collective, past performance and business experience

in an effort to achieve contract awards.

Under the Mentor-Protege Agreement EMCOR will provide CMARK with

assistance in business development, management recruiting, contract

management, and financial supervision. EMCOR has a track record of success

in Mentor-Protege relationships, including current projects whereby EMCOR

is a Mentor and subcontractor to a small business prime contractor at

NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD; and another project

whereby EMCOR is a Mentor and Joint Venture partner of a small business

maintaining the U.S. Navy facilities in Millington, TN. As part of its

relationship with CMARK, EMCOR will aid CMARK in constructing a long-range

business development plan which focuses on U.S. Government agencies for

work being set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses,

as well as other projects whereby a number of EMCOR's subsidiaries can

potentially partner for U.S. Government work.

During 2008, the Federal Government, including the DOD, Veterans

Administration, and the U.S. Small Business Administration, increased

emphasis on the award of Federal contracts to Service-Disabled

Veteran-Owned Small Businesses by establishing a goal of no less than 3% of

participation by service-disabled veteran-owned businesses in Federal

contracting.

"CMARK has been successful in subcontracting relationships with

multiple Prime Vendors to the Federal Government and seeks to expand on

that success as a Protege of EMCOR Government Services," said Charles

Jones, President and CEO of CMARK International.

CMARK is a licensed General Contractor and Architectural firm that

enhances the core strength of this effort in the food service and

furnishings arena. CMARK received contract awards of more than $17M during

2007 from a variety of government agencies and completes an average of 150

contract projects per year.

    About CMARK International Inc.:

CMARK International provides a wide array of services and products in

the areas of construction, interior systems and hospitality operations to

federal government institutions and facilities. As one of the

best-established and largest Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small

Businesses (SDVOSB), CMARK has built a strong franchise to meet the federal

procurement opportunity represented by the Veterans Benefits Act of 2003

(Public Law 108-183) which requires U.S. government agencies and prime

contractors to earmark three percent of all federal procurement dollars to

high quality SDVOSB firms. For more information, visit
