Experience Real-Time Indoor Location Intelligence at This Year’s Premier Location Technology Event
GLENCOE, IL–( EMWNews – April 8, 2008) – Few events can bring the latest technologies
directly into attendee’s and exhibitor’s hands, but that’s just what
Directions Media will do at Location Intelligence 2008. Collaborating with
indoor location experts Ubisense and Fish Software, event organizers will
literally tag all attendees to illustrate the power and potential of RFID
to capture location information via Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology.
Everyone participating in this year’s event will, with their permission, be
given a tag which will monitor their travels within the conference areas in
the Santa Clara Hyatt Regency Hotel during April 28-30.
At the opening plenary session on Monday at 2 pm, the tags will provide
insight into how attendees choose to arrange themselves. Then, using
information gathered at registration, seating arrangements will be changed
to enhance networking opportunities. The interactive networking session
will lead into a panel on Social Networking, Local Search & Location-based
Advertising hosted by geospatial thinker and entrepreneur Peter Batty.
During the event, attendees will use the tags to:
-- request vendor and other information from a kiosk to be sent directly to their e-mail address -- swap details with other attendees -- share information with vendors
At the same time, the tags will automatically collect information on each
wearer including:
-- exhibits explored -- sessions or workshops attended -- return visits to a vendor

hands. “Indoor location information is maturing beyond just tracking a
palette through a doorway. Our event is a perfect microcosm in which
participants can see the technology in action, talk to those behind it, and
think through its applicability to their work. And, beyond the formal
networking it will enable, we also plan to have some fun.”

Location Intelligence 2008 features hands-on workshops, featured
presentations, lively lightning panels and papers sessions covering topics
