muvee Survey Uncovers That More Than 40 Percent of People Have Been Caught Naked* on Camera; Participants Share Insight into Online Video and Photo Habits

muvee, the leading maker of automatic video editing software, conducted a survey of more than 100 people at San Francisco’s Pier 39 and surrounding areas to find out the real deal when it comes to people’s video/photo habits. Though digital and video cameras were a plenty, what the survey uncovered was shocking – 100 percent said they take photos and videos for the purposes of sharing yet 82 percent do nothing with the content they create.

San Francisco (EMWNews) July 25, 2008 — muvee, the leading maker of automatic video editing software, conducted a survey of more than 100 people at San Francisco’s Pier 39 and surrounding areas to find out the real deal when it comes to people’s video/photo habits.

Though digital and video cameras were a plenty, what the survey uncovered was shocking – 100 percent said they take photos and videos for the purposes of sharing yet 82 percent do nothing with the content they create.

What’s more, muvee was also able to glean interesting insight into the personal lives of its participants – some mildly inappropriate, some quite funny, and all thought provoking.

  • More than 40 percent of those surveyed have been caught naked on camera
  • More than 25 percent had inappropriate photos or videos posted to the web without their knowledge
  • 30 percent said they wouldn’t mind sharing these inappropriate photos and videos if they could control who saw them

muvee recently announced two new additions to its product line-up making it easier than ever for anyone to turn their photos and videos into professional looking home movies. muvee Reveal is the successor product to its award- winning muvee autoProducer range of automatic video editing software for the PC. It empowers people to edit their photos and video and set them to music in a matter of seconds with just the click of a mouse button. Using shwup, a totally new concept in collaborative editing technology, consumers can then create, edit and share content online with select friends and family members. shwup makes it easy to gather photos/videos from one event, from several sources in one place for all to enjoy – no more events with missing pictures of the photographer!

shwup complements muvee’s editing technology making it effortless to upload and download directly to and from muvee Reveal. However, if online is someone’s forte, they can use shwup independently to upload photos and video to make muvees in a completely online environment.
