Race for Jeff

On Friday July 27, 2018, Jeff Durheim, a volunteer firefighter, loving husband and father of 3 was severely injured during an Enduro Race at the Blue Earth County Fair in Garden City, MN. He was going around a corner and the car rolled.  Jeff was trapped in the car.  Following extrication, he was transported to St Mary’s hospital in Rochester by helicopter. Upon arrival at the ER, they did a series of tests and discovered that he had a fractured C-5 vertebrae in his neck. Surgery was performed Saturday morning to remove bone fragments and repair/stabilize the fracture.  During surgery, they discovered his C-7 was also fractured.  His spinal cord was intact, but also severely damaged and had been bleeding.  Jeff’s mobility is a major challenge but he continues to improve each day.

Jeff has a long road of recovery ahead, but his family, friends and the entire medical team continue to be impressed by his strength. With each passing day we don’t know when he will be able to return to his life, his family and to work, which certainly won’t be in the near future.

We are raising funds for the growing medical expenses. 100% of funds received will go to Jeff and his family.

Please, any help is so greatly appreciated, and please keep him and our family in your thoughts and prayers.
