He has built the biggest charitable organization around the globe, the Gates Foundation which is worth $75 million. His ex-wife Melinda and friend Warren Buffett are also part of the organization.

Gates and Melinda have spent over $60 billion from their own fortune and the organization is thriving now. But his former wife has recently stepped down from the co-chair of the foundation which made her receive $12.5 billion which she will be using for her own charitable purposes. In 2010, the trio also created the Giving Pledge which is an organization that encourages richest people to donate their fortunes in their wills or lifetimes. Gates founded Microsoft back in 1975 his friend Paul Allen and Ballmer joined as the CEO in 2000. He worked for 14 years and became the largest shareholder of the company.
