for its Hermes, a next generation mobile device.

The Hermes Mobile Platform combines an advanced ARM architecture CPU

with a rich set of peripherals in an ultra-slim form factor. To meet the

growing demand for a platform for converged mobile devices, Hermes

offers a modular, customizable system featuring a 4.3

touch screen integrated with a chip-on-film computer for mobile

applications, especially for OEMs and integrators deploying Open Source

Linux.

Integrated Software-Hardware Platform

The Unicon Systems Hermes platform is ready for installation of any

Linux-based phone/PDA/communication packages, including ACCESS Linux

Platform, Google Android and a range of other commercial and community

developed mobile Linux stacks. Unicon Systems eases the chore of

hardware-software integration by providing a flexible Platform Developer

Kit (PDK) that includes a sample Linux kernel port and a full set of

working device drivers for the broad range of integrated peripherals.

designing Hermes offers phenomenal flexibility and differentiation

potential for OEMs and integrators of mobile devices,

Based on a Samsung 533 MHz dual-core ARM11 processor, Unicon Systems

Hermes supports a rich selection of hardware modules that can be

Availability

Hermes will be available as a manufacturing ready System-on-Display

(SoD); and as a complete Product Development Kit, consisting of the

Hermes platform and Open Source Linux software development kit. Hermes

is scheduled for volume production in September 2008 and will be sold

directly through Unicon Systems sales channel.
