The Grand Prince Jorge Rurikovich Takes Part as Guest of Honour at the World Summit of Universal Values in Madrid

Over two days, the summit brought together a range of institutional, international and protocol events, with the participation of dignitaries, institutional and diplomatic representatives, and members and representatives of Noble Houses and families of international standing.

A first day of special personal significance

The first day began in the morning with an institutional meeting at the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) and continued in the afternoon with a reception and celebration at the official residence of H.R.H. Emir Lahouari Benarba Ben Mahieddine Al Hassani, host of the gathering.

For The Grand Prince Jorge Rurikovich, the memory of Doña Remedios carried a particularly profound meaning. Their relationship was marked by great affection and closeness, to the point that he regarded her almost as a grandmother.

The second day took place at the historic Real Casino de Madrid, where the World Summit of Universal Values Gala Dinner was held.

H.R.I.H The Grand Prince & Grand Duke Jorge Rurikovich, as Guest of Honour, was part of the protocol seating arrangement for the dinner, an evening devoted to universal values and concord.

In a beautiful twist of fate, these are values that fully embody Doña Remedios del Río (Remedios Nieto Palacios) and her late husband, Juan del Río Mapelli.

The programme also included the “Award for the Value of Intercultural Communication and Religious Pluralism”, presented to Bouziane Ahmed Khodja as part of the programme devoted to universal values, intercultural communication and religious pluralism.
