UserProof finds 32% of 378 YC startup homepages show no sign-up button on a phone
Jacksonville, Florida Oct 29, 2026 (EMWNews.com) – Oct. 29, 2026 – UserProof today published a report finding that 122 of 378 Y Combinator startup home pages (32%) show no sign-up or demo button on the first phone screen. Each home page was loaded as a 390px-wide phone and a 1366px-wide desktop on the same day.
The sample is 381 active YC companies from the Winter 2025 to Fall 2026 batches in the B2B, consumer, fintech and education groups of YC’s public company list, picked at random; 3 didn’t load, so the scores cover 378.
91 of 378 startups passed all 10 checks, and the median score is 95 out of 100.
Each startup has its own page with its score and the checks it failed.
