Hello all,
I wanted to take a minute to email you all about the traditional East Coast Trip that we do in 8th grade. Each year, a group of teachers take a group of 8th graders to Washington DC, Philadelphia, and New York City for a week. This year, we’re going April 4th-9th, so spring break. I had a number of you come to the meeting on Curriculum night and have already signed up, so forgive the duplicate email. I have included the itinerary for the trip as well as directions for signing up. We have 21 students signed up so far and the price will drop for every five students added to that number. The trip does end up costing around $2,500 and the first 20% of that, around $500 is due at the end of the week. One of the most frequently asked questions is about fundraising. Because the trip is not school sponsored, I am not allowed to do any fundraising. Parents may organize something on their own or set up a gofundme page, but I cannot organize anything. This is one of the coolest things I’ve ever done, taking a group of kids on the trip and I can’t say enough what an amazing experience it is for your child.
