When people think of veterans they think of the images on television. Most times women are not in those strong image campaigns. I come from a poor but serving military family who served this country proud from it very foundation. I did what I was suppose to do serve my country, take care of my family and go to school but hard times come to us all.
When you are a female with no children help from government assistance programs are no there for you if you are not pregnant or have children already. Those door shut in your face and you get NO after NO. It is not designed to help those who what to help themselves. I couldn’t understand I have always been a law biding, tax paying citizen help other those my years of volunteering so 30 years.
I have never missed one voting opportunity but where is the help for those who have worked there entire life and now are not able to. I am about to loss my home as I am behind in my mortgage by four month coming October 1st, 2018 my gas and electric i have maxed out my credit cards trying to live. I suffer from PTSD, MST, Depression, nightmares, anxiety, severe back, neck and joint making it hard for me to walk and do basic task like bath. I was injured while on active duty in the Air Force .
I have a Sleep PAP machine so I get enough oxygen while I sleep through the night. I have severe asthma and environmental allergies. I am required to eat a special diet without grains and casein meaning no dairy or bread plus I have allergies to tomatoes, garlic, onion, soy, beef, pork, chicken, caffeine, chocolate and white potatoes which limits greatly what I can eat and makes it very expensive to but groceries. I have had five major surgeries in the past year with most schedule for the near future my medical expenses have mounted with many going into collections. My problem is compounded by the fact that my elderly mother lives with me and financial support for the rest of my family and some of my young nieces and nephews live with me. I am in immediate need of $6,017 to bring my mortgage current and prevent foreclosure.
I am in immediate need of $1,580 for my Duke gas and electric so it is not disconnected both of which I by October 1, 2018. I am also in immediate need of $2,249 to repair the only working vehicle that was badly damaged by a fallen tree. My family have been plagued by a series of unfortunate events that have left us with nothing to help us. We had a massive flood that back up sewage water into the house over a foot high. We pray ever time it rains that it doesn’t flood again because our main waste pipe to the house in damaged and crumbling and needs to be replaced it cost almost $10,000 and that was the cheap estimate.
We do not have it so we pray and take turns watching to make sure the water doesn’t back up again. When it rains it pours! If it were possible if we could get enough to replace the H-VAC system that was destroyed by the sewage water back up which is about $4,400 that would be a dream come true as we have not had air conditioning or heat going into the second year. And if I could get help to purchase and electric fold out scooter $3,356 from progressive mobility so I can have mobility this would indeed be a dream come true. We have always been poor but working poor now that I am not working we will soon be Homeless come October 1, 2018.
It doesn’t matter if it is a few dollars or more every dollars counts. Please help for our very existence is defendant on you generosity. When one of us are helped the village that is supported by them are helped.
