Beat this MICHAEL!

Hello everyone,

I am Ray Cole

Children are regarded as gift from God and seal to any marriage and relationship. When they come, they serve as a rallying point for the couple as both the man and woman does their best to ensure that their kid(s) have quality training and upbringing that would help them succeed in life.

Watching the kids grow into adult is an experience every couple cherishes and therefore, must deploy every known skill to ensure that they plant good virtues in them so that when they grow old, they won’t depart from it, just like the Holy Book enjoined…

From the time of conception to his birth, Michael Cole never gave me troubles. He was quiet, loving, caring and affectionate.

As little as Michael is, he can spot when your heart is troubled and can offer to help you, even if it means leaving his own problems; he never hesitate sharing what he has with people around him. He is just special; everybody feels good even in a worst situation when Michael steps in. He was every person’s delight.

As a child, my son had already drawn his dreams in life and he is working hard towards realizing his dreams. Despite his playful nature, Michael is serious with his studies and has been able to show it through his performances in class; he has stood out from his peers at several times.

He will not let any discussion pass without encouraging you to make sure that you are a good citizen of the United and to avoid getting involved in crime.

Sadly, Mike as fondly called and would prefer to be addressed as such is facing a serious health challenge that may affect him in realizing his dreams and aspirations in life. He is recently diagnosed of ‘Rhabdomyosarcoma’ Rhabdomyosarcoma in children (also called “rhabdo” or RMS) is a tumor in which malignant (cancer) cells look like young, immature muscle cells. It is the most common soft tissue sarcoma (cancer of soft and connective tissue) found in children. In the United States, about 350 new cases are diagnosed each year in children under 20 years of age. Almost two-thirds of pediatric rhabdomyosarcoma cases are diagnosed in children under 6.

RMS can arise in any muscle of the body, but the most common sites are:

Adjacent to the base of the skull (parameningeal)
Around the eye (orbital)
Other sites in the head and neck, such as the cheek or lip
Arms and legs (extremities)
Urinary and reproductive organs (genitourinary system) including bladder, vagina, prostate and soft tissue around the testicles

In children, there are two major subtypes of RMS, based on the tumor cell appearance under the microscope:
Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS): It is the most common type (60-70% of cases) and tends to occur in younger children.
Alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma (ARMS): More commonly found in adolescents.

Signs and Symptoms of Rhabdomyosarcoma

The most common presenting symptom of RMS is a growing mass or swelling wherever the tumor forms. Other signs and symptoms depend on the location of the primary tumor, which are described below.

For tumors presenting in the urinary and reproductive organs, children may experience blood in the urine, difficulty urinating, or bleeding from the vagina.

For tumors presenting adjacent to the base of skull (includes the nasal cavity, middle ear, and sinuses), the cancer can cause facial asymmetry, blurred vision, difficulty breathing, ear bleeding or discharge, headaches and facial pain. Swelling or bulging around the eye is a common sign of a tumor arising around the orbit.

Extremity tumors (those in the arms or legs) often present as a rapidly enlarging, firm mass.

We first discovered his cancer ‘Rhabdomyosarcoma’ when we noticed a small mass on the side of his neck and when we took him to Texas Children’s Hospital, diagnosis was taken and it came out to be RMS.

My son has stage 3 of the cancer. He is fighting really hard and positive that he will come out of it.

We have spent our earnings in the treatment and yet more money is needed for more. For now, we need about $10, 000 to keep the treatment going.

Please, find it in your heart worthy of helping financially to save and keep our son alive. He is a priceless gift from God to the family and we are confident that he will make great impact in the society if given the chance to live.

We shall keep updating you with his progress reports frequently and promise to make judicious use of every donation that comes for the purpose of this campaign.

Thanks and God Bless you
