was attained as the 30th Policyholder /
Shareholder joined the Energi Fuel Captive Distribution Program. The
Energi Program provides property, general liability, workers’
compensation, commercial automobile, excess liability, site pollution
liability, and EPLI. Certain lines are underwritten in a captive
insurance program offered through Discover RE, a division of Travelers.
These programs are available for retail and wholesale distribution of
home heating oil, propane and gasoline including gas stations &
convenience stores.
Over the past two years, Energi’s strategy has
been to focus on the New England states to attract leading dealers that
implement industry defined best practices. The program provides
customized coverage, value-added loss prevention and safety, aggressive
claims management, fair equitable pricing, and some control over their
risk management and insurance program. While at the same time,
policyholders become shareholders and owners of their own insurance
company operation. The Company plans to develop a strong foundation of
fuel distributors in other Northeastern states along with additional
regions of the United States.
