PowerPay! PLUS is offered to members of PowerPay! PJM and allows businesses to choose when they want to reduce their electricity, giving them an extra revenue stream for their electric demand reduction efforts.

This program is a best-efforts, no penalty program in which participants are paid for reducing electricity when electricity prices in the market reach a threshold pre-determined by the company and ECS. ECS will provide detailed price forecasting and present day-ahead pricing so participants will have an idea of the projected prices and their likelihood of being triggered for reduction. As with all of ECS’ programs, there are absolutely no penalties for non-performance.

Some ways businesses participate include shutting down production lines, turning down public area and office lights, reducing cooling in some areas of the facility and turning off non-critical equipment.

In order to measure data used during an event, ECS will install interval metering at the facility free of charge, providing easy-to-understand energy use reports including trending, consumption and forecasting. ECS will provide companies with a user friendly, web based platform, allowing businesses to login to the secure network from anywhere in the world to view energy usage.
