Great Bay Software Announces Availability of New Sponsored Guest Access Software Application
Software Innovators’ New Product Makes It Easy to Provision Guest Users and Contract Employees With S
GREENLAND, NH–( EMWNews – April 8, 2008) – Great Bay Software, the innovator of Endpoint
Profiling for enterprise networks, today announced the availability of its
newest software application, Sponsored Guest Access (SGA). SGA is an easily
implemented, customizable application that empowers IT administrators to
configure and monitor network security parameters for guest users, contract
employees, and devices requiring temporary or specialized network access in
a NAC or 802.1X network.
As more organizations deploy Network Access Control (NAC) and 802.1X
security solutions, the need for a guest user security policy and
enforcement application has become more crucial. And as the business
operations model continues to include contractors, temporary employees,
telecommuters, guest users and other non-traditional workers, the risk of
data exposure is greater than ever. Unlike other guest access solutions,
Great Bay Software’s SGA addresses these challenges specifically for either
NAC or 802.1X and the unique challenges of guest sponsorship in these
secure environments. SGA allows enterprise IT security administrators to
set up customizable parameters for each user, including time limits,
Acceptable Use Policy, and account type.
Advanced features of Great Bay’s SGA include:
-- Authorization for company employees to securely create guest accounts -- Interoperable with major NAC vendor solutions, including Cisco, Juniper, Symantec, and ID Engines -- Ability to manage the concepts of time and user permissions -- Optional implementation of an Acceptable Use Policy -- Integration with 802.1X authentication -- Assists in the administration of PXE Boot and remote imaging systems in an authenticated network.
When used in conjunction with Great Bay’s award-winning, flagship software
product, Beacon Endpoint Profiler, SGA empowers NAC Appliance and 802.1X
administrators to ensure the efficient operation of NAC or 802.1X
environments by providing reports on guest user network behavior along with
an ongoing contextual inventory of all appliances and ports, including
non-Windows and non-NAC/EAP devices.
“The release of SGA is an important facet in our continuing strategy of
providing Enterprise IT administrators with the information and systems to
materially reduce the risk and cost associated with deploying and managing
authenticated and NAC-enabled networks,” said Steve Pettit, president of
Great Bay Software. “We’re most proud of the fact that this product was
customer driven, in that the requirements, features, and architecture of
the system were almost entirely driven by the requests of our install base.
We listened and we delivered a solution in an area that is adjacent to our
market, but was easily within reach because of our core technology.”
