Help Sydney get to The University of Pennsylvania!
My name is Sydney and I would like to announce my crowdfunding campaign to help me afford the cost of attending college. I plan to attend The University of Pennsylvania; the school that I have wanted to attend for most of my life. The 12 years of hard work and study finally paid off as I was fortunate enough to be accepted to the University of Pennsylvania, Class of 2020.

The tuition and fees for my first year amount to over $68,000. Yes, $68.000! Coming from a single parent home, I am unable to afford this on my own. Additionally, while I qualified for significant financial aid according to FAFSA, Penn, like many other private schools, uses a separate institutional method to calculate need. Under that method, I did not qualify for aid at all. Unfortunately, I cannot come up with $68,000, even with loans. Additionally, because I plan a career in medicine, I will need to take out very large loans for medical school. I would like to try to avoid having a $300,000 debt before I even get to that point.

I am very excited about the opportunity that attending such a great institution will afford me and I am so grateful to be a Penn Quaker. I feel that Penn will provide me with the best foundation to be able to pursue my life goal of becoming a physician. My greatest interest is in the field of global medicine. I am determined to pursue my educational and career goals. I have already started to prepare myself for a career where I can contribute and make a difference on a global scale. In order to make my future plans a reality, I need your help. I am asking for your financial support at any level that you feel comfortable. I won’t let you down!
