TOLEDO, Ohio, Aug. 6 /EMWNews/ -- Michael Hylant has been elected

Chief Executive Officer of Hylant Group by the company's Office of the

Chairman - a board consisting of the company's top officials. Founded and

headquartered in Toledo, Ohio, Hylant Group is a family-owned business that

has grown into one of the largest privately held brokerage firms in the

United States. Michael Hylant assumes the role from Patrick Hylant, who

remains the firm's Chairman.



    Michael began his career as a casualty underwriter for the Hartford

Insurance Company in Pittsburgh. He started at Hylant Group in 1983 as a

Client Executive in the Toledo office. As Hylant continued to grow, Michael

was chosen to open the Cleveland office in 1989 as President, where he was

responsible for all day-to-day operations and growth.

to take the reigns," said Patrick Hylant. "Because of Mike's strong

executive and personal skills, he is the right person to lead this company

    Because of Michael's extensive industry knowledge and background, he

has been a speaker and panel participant at the Council of Insurance Agents

and Brokers (CIAB) Conference and the Chubb Leadership Conference. He is a

member of the Cleveland Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization and he

previously served as a member of the Zurich North America National Advisory

Council. Michael graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, with a

bachelor's degree in business.
