EVANSTON, Ill., Aug. 13 /EMWNews/ -- Mentice, Inc. and MATC have forged a relationship that will allow the two entities to work on multiple and mutually beneficial projects to further advance the use of simulation in technical colleges and teaching institutions throughout North America. Mentice's Procedicus VIST Simulator allows a student, fellow, resident, nurse, technician and/or attending physician to gain exposure to routine and sophisticated procedures. The user can perform simulated procedures on a mannequin-type simulator in the areas of interventional radiology, interventional cardiology and vascular surgery. The simulator provides a realistic and hands-on experience which requires assessments to be made and associated clinical decisions to be executed. In addition, MATC will support Mentice in its quest to broaden the scope of its capabilities while broadening the market for medical simulation. "This important relationship with MATC will allow Mentice to continue to fine tune its offering in the area of basic skills and techniques in medical simulation, particularly within endovascular procedures. It further illustrates Mentice's commitment to education and training while broadening the technology's market acceptance and harvesting its continued market growth," said Tim Shannon, VP of Sales and Marketing - Americas. "The addition of Mentice's Procedicus VIST Simulator to the cardiovascular curriculum of MATC will appreciably enhance the student's educational experience and serve to elevate and sharpen their entry level skills through a series of diversified simulated procedures, made available on several skill assessment and learning levels," said Duane Huelse, B.S., RCIS, RTR(R), CVT-EP - MATC's Instructor, Cardiovascular Technology.
