Need help with medical bills for dog

My dog “Shakira” was attacked yesterday by a dog “Chase” that I got from the shelter I returned chase to the shelter and they put her down, I took shakira to the pet hospital they want me to pay 2,500 in bills this exact day I don’t have that type of money I thought they would let me do it In payment plans please guys I need help anything I don’t want to lose two of my best friends
