MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO–( EMWNews – March 31, 2008) – Pioneering Technology Inc. of Mississauga, Ontario (TSX VENTURE:PIO), (“Pioneering”) was recently informed that the Region of Waterloo received an energy efficiency subsidy from Cambridge and North Dumfries Hydro Inc. (“Cambridge Hydro”) for the purchase and installation of 249 sets of Safe-T-elements in six seniors buildings in Cambridge, Ontario as a means for saving energy.

The Safe-T-element^® cooking technology was researched and tested thoroughly by the Region of Waterloo for both its fire safety and energy saving benefits. Energy efficiency testing by the Region concluded a savings of 26 per cent and as a result the product is now included as part of the Region’s Corporate Energy Program.

According to Brian Bechtel, Corporate Energy Specialist with the Region of Waterloo, “this project reinforces our commitment to implementing best practices to improve energy performance in the Region. Our stovetop element replacement conversion projects in Regional Housing units are a good example of the many projects we are currently implementing as part of our Corporate Energy Program.”

John Grotheer, President & CEO of Cambridge and North Dumfries Hydro Inc. noted the local utility “is committed to delivering energy conservation education, tools and programs to help residents and businesses in our communities save energy for a brighter future. Participation in the Safe-T-element projects was a perfect fit under our umbrella of programs.”
