Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice at the Democratic National
Convention
WASHINGTON, Aug. 21 /EMWNews/ -- RCRC -- the Religious
Coalition for Reproductive Choice -- will hold two events at the Democratic
National Convention to highlight abortion and other reproductive rights
issues in the campaign. RCRC's president, The Reverend Dr. Carlton W.
Veazey, will speak at the events and is also available for media
interviews. RCRC is the national coalition of religious denominations and
agencies that are pro-choice, including the United Methodist Church, the
Episcopal Church, Presbyterian Church (USA), United Church of Christ,
Unitarian Universalists, Catholics for Choice and the Reform, Conservative
and Reconstructionist movements of Judaism.
Reverend Veazey will discuss how religion shapes candidates' views on
access to abortion, comprehensive sexuality education, and family planning.
"The press and some politicians present the public with a misleading view:
either religious and pro-life OR secular and pro-choice. But the positions
of both Senator Obama and Senator McCain are more complex than that," said
Reverend Veazey.
