Sybase Unveils New Mobility Platform for Unwiring the Enterprise
Sybase Unwired Platform Meets Increasing Demand for a Single,
Complete Mobility Architecture to Deliver Information Anywhere, Anytime,
on Any Device
LAS VEGAS–(EMWNews)–Sybase, Inc. (NYSE:SY), a leading provider of enterprise infrastructure
and mobile software, today demonstrated its next generation architecture
for mobilizing enterprise applications, Sybase®
Unwired Platform, to approximately 1,200 attendees from more than 41
countries at its TechWave User Training and Solutions Conference. With
this new architecture, Sybase is fulfilling its promise to unwire the
enterprise and extend it to employees and end consumers by providing a
single, complete mobile platform with industry-leading technologies to
ease the development, deployment and management of strategic mobile
applications.
“Born out of 20 years of mobility leadership
and experience with thousands of customers, Sybase Unwired Platform
takes mobility to the next level,” said John
Chen, chairman, CEO, and president of Sybase. “We’re
seeing customer and partner demand for a complete, tightly integrated
platform that provides true enterprise value by mobilizing business
processes and applications. This is our Unwired Enterprise vision –
unleashing the power of information anywhere, at anytime, from the data
center right to the mobile edge including employees and end customers.”
Sybase Unwired Platform will address the multichannel
access gateway (MAG) requirements by integrating development and
deployment of mobile applications with streamlined device security and
management for a range of mobile device types. This next generation
mobile platform will enable strategic mobile deployments versus tactical
or siloed mobile application approaches, significantly reducing a company’s
total cost of ownership.
According to Gartner, “by 2010, 50% of
enterprises will have migrated away from tactical mobile application
silos (supporting a single application) to strategic platforms capable
of supporting multiple applications, managing devices and securing data
and transport.”i
Sybase has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leaders quadrant in
its Magic Quadrant for Multi-Channel Access Gateway, 2007i.
Sybase Unwired Platform will provide the ability to build, deploy and
manage mobile applications in a way that is simple, fast, secure and
open. It enables companies to create an information edge by optimizing
and enhancing the infrastructure they already own, linking valuable data
resources and securely delivering information anytime, anywhere. In
addition, Sybase Unwired Platform will expand the enterprise with a
mobile paradigm that extends a reliable messaging network to consumers.
