into real world products, will debut its new line of EARCAD™ imaging

products at AudiologyNOW!, the 20th anniversary convention of the American

Academy of Audiology (AAA) in Charlotte, North Carolina, April 2-5, 2008.

At Exhibit # 2258, members of Technest’s management team will launch the

Company’s innovative EARCAD (Ear Impression) System, demonstrating and

explaining its important applications in the custom hearing aid and ear

mold markets. More than 7,000 hearing professionals and major hearing aid

manufacturers are expected to attend this year’s convention.

Technest’s EARCAD System automates the process of converting a physical ear

impression into a 3D model for streamlined production and quality control.

Initial applications are for manufacturers looking to streamline their

operations and for audiology practices seeking to improve turnaround times

and accuracy.

EARCAD provides audiologists and manufacturers with a total value-added

solution from its range of impression and non-impression scanners and

associated software. In particular the non-impression scanner is well

suited to the new “behind the ear” fit models which are approaching 50% of

all hearing aids sold. Technest is currently in discussions with several

major manufacturers about the commercial implementation of these systems.

Approximately 2.5 million hearing aids were sold in the United States in

2007 and the retail market worldwide was over $6 billion. Market

penetration still has considerable potential growth as 17.6% of the U.S.

population, or 56 million people, are over the age of 60 with increasing

life expectancy.
