The Season Continues for TForce Motorsports at 2008 BITD Vegas-to-Reno Event

TForce Motorsports prepares to compete in the third of four off-road race events for the truck team in 2008. The event, which takes place in Nevada will push the Toyota powered team in a fast off-road race event that begins outside of Las Vegas and ends just outside of Reno, NV.

Vista, CA (EMWNews) August 20, 2008 — The 2008 Best in the Desert Vegas to Reno off-road race is the next stop for TForce Motorsports in 2008. The team has been testing and working diligently to attack the longest off-road race that is held each year in the United States. The course is known as a very demanding course for the drivers. In addition, the event is unique compared with other off-road races found in Mexico. The off-road regulations found in the United States dictate pre-set pit locations. In Mexico, the teams work many angles for success, including the location of pit areas. Therefore, the vehicle and drivers must work harder on course to make the difference in the final result.

The race will be the second race for the Chad Ragland/Steve Hengeveld duo as co-drivers. For this event, driver Steve Hengeveld will qualify and start the race for TForce Motorsports. Unlike SCORE events, the BITD organization actually starts the drivers on course based on a pre-event qualifying session. For TForce Motorsports and driver Steve Hengeveld, this will be a new challenge.

Hengeveld had this to say about the opportunity to start the race, “I am really excited to start the truck for TForce. Not only starting the event, but also qualifying the truck will be a new experience. I am hopeful that I can qualify in a good position. The better I qualify, the less I will have to deal with dust from other trucks at the start of the event.”

After Steve completes his time behind the wheel, he will pass the responsibilities of driving to Chad Ragland. As the original member of the TForce Motorsports driver line-up, Chad has been able to work with the team and with Steve to develop a good chemistry. Going into the Vegas-to-Reno race event, Chad had this to say, “We have worked very hard to develop the TForce package. I think we have made some great strides in regards to the development of the truck. I am looking forward to getting into it and driving to the finish. This course has many types of terrain and we should be fast through all of them.”

For the team, the opportunity to put the truck into a race event is exciting. Team Principal Danny Sullivan and Team Manager Jim Anderson have worked hard to continue to push the team to the front of the off-road racing field. The progress of that goal will be tested again this weekend in Nevada.

Anderson had this to say about the race event, “We as a team have enjoyed the development time since our last race with Chad and Steve. The whole team has worked diligently to continue to develop the durability and pace of the truck. We look forward to this weekend’s event to test our progress.”

In addition, Danny Sullivan had this to say about the race, “I am pleased with the hard work that Chad, Steve, and Jim and the entire team have made in the driving and truck package. While we haven’t raced since May, we have continued to develop the entire organization. The efforts of the entire team have been of a very high level. We look forward to taking all of the hard work and applying it this weekend in Nevada.”
