WindConnect(R) Joins BP Alternative Energy and Dominion for Wind Farm Ceremony

Indiana governor recognizes the state's largest wind farm development

MADISON, Wis., Aug. 4 /EMWNews/ -- Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels

officially welcomed the Fowler Ridge Wind Farm to Benton County, Indiana,

at a project recognition and blade signing ceremony on May 28, 2008.

Governor Daniels, who was joined by other local elected officials,

landowners, and community leaders, commented, "Indiana is becoming a leader

in clean energy production, including wind, clean coal technology,

biofuels, and other alternatives. America needs more homegrown energy from

every source, and the greener the better."

WindConnect(R) was awarded the balance-of-plant engineering and

construction work for phase I of the Fowler Ridge Wind Farm in early 2008.

Phase I is expected to produce 400 MW of clean energy, which will be owned

jointly by BP Alternative Energy North America Inc. and Dominion Resources.

"This is a major renewable energy development not just for Indiana, but

for the entire country," says Mark Osten, WindConnect's Director of

Business Development. "We are very pleased to be a part of this project to

diversify U.S. energy supply. BP Alternative Energy has done a fantastic

job of building broad support in this community, which will pay huge

dividends in the successful execution of our construction efforts."

This wind energy facility will provide enough electricity to power more

than 105,000 homes and offset the equivalent of over 950,000 tons of carbon

dioxide emissions to the atmosphere.

WindConnect began construction of the roads and concrete and steel

turbine foundations in February 2008. The erection of 40 Clipper C-96 and

182 Vestas V-82 wind turbine generators is currently in progress. The

underground collection system and two substations will be interconnected to

the PJM transmission system through a 25-mile, 345 kilovolt transmission

line, which will be linked at the Dequine Substation. Phase I is expected

to be operational by the end of 2008.
