BUFFALO, N.Y., Aug. 13 /EMWNews/ -- HealthTransaction Network(R)
continues to build its innovative national, electronic healthcare network
and has announced the participation of several new hospital systems and
other healthcare providers.
Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, Medina Memorial Health Care
System, and MedFirst Urgent Care have signed long term agreements to
participate in the Network. In addition, five independent physicians groups
have agreed to join the Network and Bertrand Chaffee Hospital has made a
verbal commitment to participate. Paul DeSantis, Bertrand Chaffee CEO,
said, "signing the agreement at this point in time is just a technicality."
These four hospital system signings, along with the five physician
groups, are in addition to TLC Health Network and Brooks Memorial Hospital,
which were announced in late January. Joseph E. Wolfson, President and CEO
of HealthTransaction Network(R), said, "these most recent signings increase
the number of HTN Network locations to 31 in the Western New York Area."
Network transaction processing operations began in May 2008 with the
implementation of merchant processing services at three of the five
participating physician groups. In addition, the Company is currently in
the final stages of preparing for the implementation of the remaining
Network processing operations, including the issuance of consumer
healthcare cards at participating hospital system sites. "The Company is on
track to complete implementation of this new healthcare network in late
August, 2008," Mr. Wolfson said.
In summary, HealthTransaction Network(R) is creating the first-ever
electronic healthcare network to provide affordable routine primary,
preventive and wellness care services to the uninsured and underinsured
population, across the United States. The Network connects healthcare
providers and consumers using an electronic transaction network system that
quickly, securely and efficiently processes transactions between them.
Participation in the Network is open to all healthcare providers and
consumers, nationwide. Consumers can gain access to the affordable services
by subscribing and obtaining a consumer healthcare card at participating
healthcare provider or employer sites.
The Company also announced that it has recently published a white paper
document, which was completed by HealthTransaction Network(R) and TLC
Health Network of Irving, NY, in conjunction with research firm Insight
Associates, Inc. The white paper represents the culmination of nearly five
years of research and examines such issues as: the uninsured and
underinsured population in America; the inefficient and ineffective
distribution and administrative systems supporting the healthcare system;
and the rapidly rising cost of healthcare for American citizens. The
document is available on the Company's website http://www.HTNnet.com.
