Angelo’s Fight for Sight GoFundME Booster Promotion CrowdFunding Campaign CrowdFundingExposure.com

Hello my name is Alyssa Rios, and I am reaching out to you on behalf of my brother, Angelo Bustamante, to ask for the help and support of our friends and family. He has been recently diagnosed with Keratoconus [ker-uh-toh-koh-nuh s] which is a progressive eye disease, in which the normally round cornea thins and begins to bulge into a cone-like shape. This cone shape deflects light as it enters the eye on its way to the light-sensitive retina, causing distorted vision. As the cornea becomes more irregular in shape, it causes progressive nearsightedness and irregular astigmatism to develop, creating additional problems with distorted and blurred vision. Glare and light sensitivity also may occur.

Keratoconus can occur in either one or both eyes; unfortunately he has it in both. It all started with a regular visit to the eye doctor, assuming his sight was worsening with age. Instead he is told that it wasn’t eye glasses that he need but to see and eye specialist. After meeting with the specialist he was diagnosed with Keratoconus in both eyes. The doctor stated that his right eye was already in the advance stages of Keratoconus and that he would need cross link eye surgery, for both eyes, as soon as possible.

Once Angelo was given the news about his sight he asked how much of the procedure will be cover by his insurance. Unfortunately, the doctor said cross link surgery will not be able to be covered by his insurance.

Angelo then informed his job immediately about is medical condition. The Manager completely understood but had to inform him once his sight goes bad for both eyes, he would no longer be capable to work. Since his job is to package and inspect the items before they are sent out. The thought of his 2 precious children came to mind; one 8 year old boy and a 7 month old girl. He panicked, as not being able to work meant that he wouldn’t be able to financially support his family! What broke his heart even more was the thought of not being able to physically SEE his children grow up.

Angelo is a very prideful person who will always give help before He will ever ask for it. So instead, I will speak out for him! I want him to know he is not alone through this journey, That he as ME and so many others other there that love and care for him as much as his family does.

Please be kind and help him not lose sight of life! Any help is greatly appreciated. #AngelosFightForSight
