Help a veteran in need, battling cancer! ZumaFunder.com CrowdFunding Booster

Our family was hit with quite a shock this week. The love of my life is now fighting for his life and we could use all the help we can get.

My husband went to the ER with what we thought was a very bad case of pneumonia. He was having trouble breathing and getting up stairs, which wasn’t usual for this generally seemingly healthy individual. After some tests, they find that he has multiple clots in both lungs, causing the breathing problems. After blood work, they discover that he is not only a diabetic but also has incredibly poor hemoglobin results that they could not explain. And so begins the barrage of tests, tests and more tests to figure out this mystery.

More blood tests, CTs, x-rays, endoscopy, colonoscopy – you name it. Through it all, the accounting department makes daily visits to remind us at the rising cost of saving someones life. And then they finally hit us with the C-word. Cancer. Rectal Cancer. We are terrified of whats to come and the scariness and worry is threatening to overwhelm.

It’s a lot all at once. He’s a Navy veteran and a hard working man. We’re not sure when/if he’ll ever be able to return to work – his career as a long haul truck driver is not conducive to his condition, with the blood clots. He went from a very active man, an avid hunter, and engaged father and grandfather, to a man who was winded walking up five steps. This hit us like a ton of bricks – there were no signs of ANYTHING wrong, nothing more than a bad cough and some fatigue.

I just want to keep my husband alive and keep our children housed and fed. While he’s out of work, in the hospital and undergoing treatment, we will have little to no income and we need help to keep our place, cover utilities, provide food and cover some of the immediate medical costs.

He is our sole provider, the father of eight, Poopops (grandpa) of eleven, my best friend, my partner, the love of my life. He is the husband of a stubborn women who will bend the Earth to keep him alive.

If you are able to help at all, it would be greatly appreciated. Every little bit counts, honestly.
