We are doing this hike to help fight diabetes and to help find a cure for diabetes by raising funds on behalf of the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation AKA JDRF, and all diabetics around the world. As a type2 Diabetic I was able to control my diabetes with my weight and diet. My son however being a insulin dependent Type 1 diabetic is not so lucky. The sleepless nights trying to get his blood sugars level, getting sick and watching his blood sugar spike to numbers only one can imagine, endless poking and pricking of his fingers, and needles in his arms and legs. Sure its the day of a diabetic but Tyler was just 7 years old when he was diagnosed with this disease and we have watched and lived through the struggles with him.
