Manicouagan Reports Results from Brabant Lake Drilling: Assays up to 16.27% Zinc Over 3.57 Metres and 2.44% Lead and 88.7 Grams per Tonne Silver Over 12.82 Metres

TORONTO, ONTARIO–( EMWNews – April 1, 2008) – Manicouagan Minerals Inc. (TSX VENTURE:MAM) announced today additional encouraging assay results from the Phase II drill program on its wholly owned Brabant Lake zinc deposit in Saskatchewan. Assays for drill holes BR-08-46, BR-08-47 and BR-08-48 have been received and are set out below. These holes constitute the last three holes of the recently completed Phase II drill program and as previously announced, the Company is in the process of calculating a resource estimate – expected by the end of April, 2008 – focused on the higher grade Lower Zone (see MAM press releases dated February 14, 2008 and March 4, 2008).

Drill hole BR-08-47 intersected high grade zinc mineralization, typical of the Lower Zone, and assayed 16.27% zinc and 0.85% copper over a 3.57 metre interval.

Drill holes BR-08-46 and BR-08-48 intersected atypically long – 14.09 metres and 12.82 metres, respectively – intervals of sulphide mineralization with significant lead and silver values. The Lower Zone in drill hole BR-08-48 assayed 2.44% lead and 88.67 grams per tonne silver over 12.82 metres. Typically, at Brabant Lake, significant lead and silver mineralization is characteristic of the Footwall Zone but in BR-08-46 and 48 it appears the lead-silver mineralization overprints pre-existing Lower Zone mineralization.
