Mediware’s JAC Awarded UK ASCC Framework Contracts

Addition of Alternate Purchasing Vehicles Expected to Help Mediware’s International Business (JAC) Continue to Deliver Double Digit Growth in UK Market

LENEXA, KS–(EMWNews – July 16, 2008) – Mediware

Information Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MEDW), a provider of ClosedLoop™

clinical systems for blood and medication management, announced that the

Company’s UK-based JAC Computer

Systems has been appointed to the ASCC (Additional Supply Capability

and Capacity) framework contract in both the e-prescribing and pharmacy

(stock control) categories. The ASCC contracts provide a framework for

health care organizations to procure specialist services or complex

multiple-system solutions at local, regional or even national levels.

“JAC has been a strong contributor for Mediware since the firm was acquired

in 1996,” said Kelly Mann, Mediware’s president and chief executive

officer. “We are the clear market leader in the UK for pharmacy stock

control systems and our latest product for e-prescribing and medication

administration has been successfully installed at 14 facilities, with

several more in implementation.”

The strength of JAC’s product and service capabilities has continually

delivered positive results to Mediware’s financial performance. Through the

first three quarters of Fiscal Year 2008, Mediware has reported quarter to

comparative quarter revenue growth for JAC of 29%, 19% and 37%

respectively. Mediware will announce its full year results for FY 08 in

early September.

JAC has a solid customer base and in 2005 was selected as a specialist

provider of pharmacy stock control systems as part of the Connecting for

Health’s national transformation program. JAC’s award is in cooperation

with BT (British Telecom) for the London Region.

Delays in delivery from major National Program suppliers are expected to

create additional opportunities for specialist suppliers like JAC.

Appointment to the ASCC framework provides Hospital Trusts with a

contracting vehicle to work directly with JAC and other qualified vendors

to procure specialist e-prescribing and/or pharmacy stock control services

as an alternative.

Commenting on the appointment, Robert Tysall-Blay, JAC’s Chief Executive

said, “We feel it is a clear signal of our experience and expertise in

medicines management that we have been listed in our own right as a

specialist provider for both of these complex acute care settings.”

“We are further delighted that JAC’s services are also now available via

the ASCC framework through a significant number of National and other

Specialist SME partners’ solutions.”

JAC provides medication management solutions internationally for Mediware.

It has more than 100 hospital customers in the United Kingdom, Ireland and

South Africa.
