About the Author
Müge Yücel was born in Germany as the first daughter to physician parents. After completing her primary and secondary education in Germany, she received a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Michigan State University in 1999. She subsequently earned two master’s degrees–one in International Management (MSM, 2000) and another in International Finance (MSF, 2001)–from Walsh College of Accountancy and Business Administration.

Starting her professional career in the USA, Müge Yücel gained extensive experience across diverse sectors, including project finance, marketing, and consulting. In 2005, she founded Mediterranum AG, a Berlin-based company with mezzanine financing capital of 25 million, focused on developing assisted living facilities along the Turkish Riviera. She also demonstrated her entrepreneurial spirit by initiating a major health tourism project. In 2008, Yücel returned to Turkey and joined Dou Otomotiv, the exclusive importer and distributor of Volkswagen Group brands in the country, serving as the Manager of the Investor Relations Department for nearly 14 years. Since 2021, she has held the position of Investor Relations and Sustainability Director at Galata Wind, “Turkey’s first green IPO,” which operates in the renewable energy sector with wind and solar power plants.

Müge Yücel holds a Governance, Risk and Compliance Professional (GRCP) certificate, as well as licenses in Capital Market Activities Level 3, Corporate Governance Rating, Derivative Instruments, and Credit Rating. She was elected to the Editorial Board of IR Magazine and is currently a Board Member of the Turkish Investor Relations Society (TUYID). Additionally, she actively supports the sector’s development through her involvement in organizations such as the Corporate Governance Association of Turkey.

Ahead of the implementation of the MIFID II directive, she independently organized roadshows targeting foreign investors to enhance companies’ visibility in international markets. This proactive approach not only created a significant impact for her companies but also set a new standard in the investor relations sector. Today, she continues to contribute to the field as a speaker on various platforms, trainer, and mentor to young professionals.

As a pioneer of digital transformation in investor relations, Yücel promotes leveraging digitalization and integrating artificial intelligence technologies to develop smarter and more efficient solutions. Her investor relations philosophy is founded on three key principles: being proactive, strategic, and engaging.
