On February 20, 2019 Emily (punkin), 15yrs old, was taken to the ER for what was thought to be an appendicitis, due to severe flank pain. After labs, scans, etc we were told she has a severe kidney infection and was transferred to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.  After testing again we were told she has kidney failure, one kidney completely stopped working and the other only working at 50% and is not going to get better and will need dialysis and a kidney transplant when it stops, so this is for her!
