12 years ago Mary was diagnosed with primary biliary cirrhosis of the liver also known as PBC / PBC is an autoimmune disease of the liver that results from a slow progressive destruction of the small bile ducts of the liver causing bile and other toxins to build up in the liver PBC is a rare disease that affects 1 in 3 to 4000 people therefore Mary needs a new liver treatment will be a transplant of the liver in hopes that her body doesn’t reject it therefore her meds will cost up to 5000 per month for life not including the cost of living ,special diet ,travel to and from Toronto once a week for check ups.
These funds will help cover the cost of her meds travel and home care after the surgery.I am a loving husband with 2 beautiful girls standing behind her.I will be off work to be by her side until she can manage on her own and thereafter. Any help is much appreciated anyone who knows us know we never ask for help but I guess it’s time .
