The historic port city of Trabzon, Türkiye, will host the Blue Economy Summit – Black Sea on March 25–31, 2026, convening 500+ leaders from 70+ countries for high-level dialogues, a yacht regatta, boat show, and cultural festival.

Akcaabat, Trabzon Jul 22, 2025 (EMWNews.com) – The historic port city of Trabzon will take center stage in March 2026 as it hosts the Blue Economy Summit–Black Sea, an international gathering of leaders, innovators, and changemakers to chart the future of sustainable maritime economies.

The summit aims to spotlight the Black Sea’s untapped potential within the global blue economy and foster collaboration across borders. Over 500 participants from more than 70 countries–including policymakers, scientists, entrepreneurs, and civil society leaders–are expected to converge for a week of high-level dialogue, knowledge exchange, and action planning.

The Blue Economy Summit – Black Sea will feature:

Keynote Sessions with global experts on ocean governance, sustainable shipping, and maritime innovation.

– “Blue Talks” Panels exploring marine trade, biodiversity, coastal tourism, and renewable ocean energy.

– Maritime Leadership Workshops for youth and entrepreneurs.

– Sail the Black Sea Yacht Race, an iconic regatta showcasing the Black Sea as a hub for eco-friendly maritime sports.

– Black Sea Boat Show, a premier exhibition of innovative vessels and marine technologies.

– Sail Black Sea Festival, a vibrant celebration of maritime culture, music, and coastal gastronomy.

“This summit is more than an event–it’s a movement to place the Black Sea at the heart of the global blue economy. Trabzon, with its rich maritime heritage, is the perfect meeting point for East and West,” said Yunus Emre shak, President of Trabzon Darca Yacht Club, organizer of the summit.

The initiative is supported by the Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Karadeniz Technical University, Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality, Eastern Black Sea Development Agency, and regional partners, with invitations extended to the World Bank, European Union, UN bodies, and international maritime organizations.
