I’ve been a single mom of my youngest two daughters for 18 years, and disabled since 2006 after a slew of injuries, 9 surgeries, and the development of COPD later in 2013. I left college the end of winter quarter 2015 after 2.5 years to go to work so I could support my family. I have been at my current job since March 2015, and I love my job. It gives me great satisfaction to be able to work at such a demanding job, even though it is only 28-30 hours a week since that is all my body can handle. My little family receives no government assistance and struggle daily to meet the cost of living here in Seattle. Two weeks ago my only vehicle decided to start going out. The heater core is leaking fluid onto the floorboard of the front seats, the AC evaporator is bad, and now the brake boosters. I drive my car everyday to go to work, doctors appointments and specialist appointments for all three of us, and to the grocery store, because walking two blocks to catch a bus is not an option for me. I am hoping that someone out there will see this and be able to help my family get our car fixed before it completely breaks down, if it breaks down I will have to quit my job. The shop said $2100-2500 to fix the three things listed and right now, my account has $2. Thank you for considering helping my family and God bless you.
