Who are we?

I am Michael Corbat (born May 2, 1960), an American banker who served as Chief Executive Officer of Citigroup from 2012 to 2021. Soon, I will share with you everything I have experienced throughout my career.

• From December 2010 to December 2011, he was Chief Executive Officer, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Citigroup
• From December 2008 to December 2010, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Citi Holdings
• From December 2007 to December 2008, he was Chief Executive Officer of Global Wealth Management at Citibank
• From December 2003 to December 2007, he was Head of Global Corporate Banking at Citibank
• From December 2000 to December 2003, he was Head of Emerging Markets Sales and Trading and Capital Markets, Fixed Income and Commodities at Citibank
• From December 1997 to December 2000, he was with Citibank in Emerging Markets Sales and Fixed Income
• From December 1982 to December 1997, he worked as a sales and trading clerk at Salomon Brothers

As of my current position, I still own 466,556 shares of Citigroup stock, one of the legacies of my career at Citi.

So another great asset in retirement is leaving behind in 2020 a perfectly formed Private Equity Services team, which is creating great wealth for Citi, becoming an outstanding contributor to Private Services and Citi’s quarterly financial results.

Aaron Velsten’s career over the years has been characterized by his early exit from high-risk tech positions when the dot-com bubble burst in 2001 and he managed to avoid a major catastrophe.

In 2004, he joined Eastwood Capital, a mid-sized investment bank, where he was responsible for equity research and energy sector analysis.

• 4Q25 – Tuesday, January 13, 2026
