Apriso Announces FlexNet Just-In-Sequence
Synchronization of production and supply chain processes expands Lean
manufacturing initiatives, delivering the right part at the right time
in the right sequence
LONG BEACH, Calif.–(EMWNews)–Apriso, a leading provider of adaptive software solutions for global
Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM), today announced availability
of FlexNet®
Just-In-Sequence (JIS), an application now available with the release of
FlexNet Version 9.4 Service Pack 1 Operations Execution System (see: Press
Release Introducing FlexNet 9.4 SP1). The firm’s
expertise gained from extensive implementations in the automotive and
industrial equipment industries has provided valuable insight into how
to best synchronize material flows with high product variability between
production and supply chain processes, helping to expand Lean
manufacturing practices.
FlexNet JIS lets manufacturers integrate and control complex sequencing
requirements generated from a myriad of business processes, such as
those involved with the sourcing, fabrication, sub-assembly, production
and shipping of materials. The sequence can be created in FlexNet,
received directly from a customer broadcast, imported through an
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Advanced Planning & Scheduling
(APS) system, or traditional Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). FlexNet
JIS manages assembly, manufacturing and logistics to control the
sequence of parts, error-proof operations and collect traceability and
genealogy information, helping to support Continuous Improvement and
regulatory initiatives.
As business requirements change assembly, shipping or delivery
schedules, FlexNet JIS will perform the necessary adjustments –
including validation tests using embedded “Poka-Yoke”
or error-proofing – to ensure inbound and
outbound processes are executed in the right order with the right
materials at the right time.
Unlike traditional sequencing applications that tend to have a more
narrow focus, FlexNet
Just-In-Sequence enables robust synchronization between internal
manufacturing, warehouse and quality management systems as well as
external supply chain processes. Offering value across all manufacturing
operations, FlexNet JIS is the industry’s only
sequencing application with comprehensive interlocking traceability and
an integrated quality management system. Deployable as needed, FlexNet
JIS lets manufacturers execute sequenced production, supply chain and
warehouse business processes to:
-
Receive to Sequence
-
Pick to Sequence
-
Assemble to Sequence
-
Manufacture to Sequence
-
Ship to Sequence
“FlexNet JIS offers a unique sequencing
solution to ensure receiving, production and shipment processes are
executed seamlessly, enabling the right part to be in the right place at
the right time and in the
right order,” comments Tiago Wright, product
manager at Apriso. “By leveraging the
knowledge and experience gained within Apriso’s
automotive deployments, FlexNet Just-In-Sequence can now additionally
support manufacturers in other industries such as consumer goods and
aerospace and defense, helping them to reduce lead times, improve
operational efficiency and remove waste as part of their ongoing Lean
initiatives.”
Availability
FlexNet Just-In-Sequence is now available for immediate shipment.
Pricing is based on the number of sites, the quantity of resources at
each site and the modules deployed.
