CAIR-OH Urges Prayers for Rep. Tubbs Jones

CLEVELAND, OH–(EMWNews – August 20, 2008) – The Ohio chapter of the Council on
American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-OH) today urged people of all faiths in
that state and nationwide to pray for the recovery of U.S. Rep. Stephanie
Tubbs Jones (D-OH) who is in critical condition following a brain
hemorrhage.

“We urge all Americans to pray for the swift recovery of Representative
Tubbs Jones so that she may return to her family and carry on her life-long
efforts to defend civil rights and promote social justice,” said
CAIR-Cleveland Executive Director Julia Shearson. “As the first
African-American woman to represent Ohio in Congress, Representative Tubbs
Jones has been an example to all those who seek inclusiveness in our
society.”
