In response to the press release from Intex resources on March 31 and subsequent newspaper article on April 1, 2008 referring to amounts owing between Crew Gold subsidiaries and Intex Resources, Crew Gold would like to clarify as follows:

1. The loans referred to in the Intex Resource’s press release of March 31 are project loans between two Greenlandic subsidiaries of Crew Gold and Intex Resources. The amounts have been included in Crew Gold’s audited consolidated financial statements for many years and were not due for repayment on December 31, 2007. The amounts owing from Crew’s Greenlandic subsidiaries are approximately US$10,000,000. Any other intercompany balances are immaterial.

2. Crew Gold is of the view that the Greenlandic amounts are long term in nature and have no fixed repayment terms.

3. The subsidiaries of Crew Gold are considering negotiating fixed repayment terms with Intex but no agreement has been reached in this regard.

Crew Gold is considering its legal rights with respect to statements made in the article and press release and will make no further comment on this issue at this time.
