Federal Contractor Services Network Offers CPE Credit for Its Popular

Accounting Courses for Government Contractors Involving the DCAA

Accounting System Review

KEARNEYSVILLE, W.VA.–(EMWNews)–The Federal Contractor

Services Network (FCSN), developer of ICAT and the leading developer

and provider of Contract Cost Accounting and QuickBooks training for

federal contractors, today announced the course Fundamentals of Federal

Contract Cost Accounting qualifies attendees to receive accounting CPE

credits through NASBA.

The Fundamentals of Federal Contract Cost Accounting course contains

essential information on the fundamental cost accounting principles

imposed on commercial organizations by the Federal Acquisition

Regulation (FAR) Part 31. Participants learn through examples of how a

DCAA compliant accounting system should be set up. The attendees then

complete the actual set up of a DCAA compliant accounting system using

QuickBooks. Attendees organize the company chart of accounts to

segregate direct costs from indirect costs, organize indirect costs into

cost pools, and segregate unallowable costs. They set up the company’s

jobs in QuickBooks, payroll items to properly distribute labor to

intermediate and final cost objectives, and service items so that

categories of billable direct labor can be tracked. They see how

indirect rates can be calculated and indirect costs can be allocated to

contracts using tools like ICAT. They also participate in user group

discussions so attendees can share their experiences and ideas.

Attendees receive one-on-one assistance and leave with a DCAA compliant

accounting system.

FCSN will hold its popular CPE qualified course, Fundamentals of Federal

Contract Cost Accounting, 4 times from July through October. Upcoming

workshops will begin on July 22nd, and August 26th, September 23rd, and

October 21st.

The CPE qualified seminars and workshops will take place at the ASCE

Bechtel Conference Center in Reston, Virginia, conveniently located

near Dulles Airport.
