    MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 21 /EMWNews/ -- International Motorsports

Entertainment and Development Corporation today released the preliminary

rendering of the 5/8 Mile Oval race track to be included as part of a state

of the art mixed-use motorsports complex. The paved oval will be built to

accommodate the sanctioning bodies that are interested in this outstanding

market. The preliminary plans are for 90,000 seats expandable to well over

150,000 if necessary. Plans for the project to be situated on approximately

400 acres in Big Lake, MN include the 5/8 mile, high-banked paved oval, a

One mile flat paved Oval, a one quarter mile drag strip, a three-eighths

mile oval dirt track and a 100,000 square foot exhibition and convention

center.

IMEDC has stated the possible addition of a One Mile Paved Flat Oval to

the site plan. The one mile oval to be a part of this multi-use motorsports

facility would allow for the exciting possibility of attracting the high

speed close competition of open wheel racing. Open wheel racing has been a

part of the Minnesota racing history since the early 1900's. IMEDC stated

that, "we would be very pleased to bring this exciting form of motorsports

back to Minnesota."
