Marman Climate Smart Technology Private Limited (“Marman”), has successfully raised 43.0 million in the first phase of their equity seed round from climate-focused HNI equity investors.

Marman is a venture co-founded by Deepak Gupta and Anurag Sood, specializing in innovative climate finance for the underserved segments in India like micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and clean-tech vendors, specifically in sectors like rooftop solar, agritech, green buildings, waste management, electric vehicles and other green technologies.

Through this fundraise, now Marman is set to boost deployment of environment-friendly technologies among the underserved segments in India through its innovative approach. Within a year of its launch in April-2024, Marman has not only demonstrated the dire need of its innovative solutions to help India achieve its climate goals, it has become the first financier in the country to offer carbon-credits-linked pricing to its customers. This fundraise also sets Marman firmly on its path towards responsible lending in the clean-tech space, forming a NBFC within the group, and offering supply chain solutions through its platform.

Within the US$1 trillion needed for climate finance in India, Marman focuses on the US$60 billion underserved segments via its innovative finance and supply chain solutions platform, and aims for US$1 billion AUM by 2030.
