Inigral Announces Schools, License of an Application for Higher Education Built on the Facebook Platform

Breaking Away From an Advertising Supported Application Model, Schools Is a Secure, Private, Customizable Portal Into Facebook That Can Be Licensed to US Colleges and Universities

SAN FRANCISCO, CA–(EMWNews – August 6, 2008) – Inigral, Inc. today announced their

first customer, Abilene Christian University (ACU), for the Fall 2008

limited beta release of their new product, “Schools” on Facebook. Schools is a

private application built on Facebook Platform with secure, back-end data integration with

Universities. It will be licensed to colleges and Universities

throughout the US, offering social features that enrich the students and

faculty members’ campus social graph and collegiate experience within the

accessible and popular Facebook Platform. Inigral is a Founders Fund

backed application developer based in San Francisco focusing on the

education market.

“Licensing, rather than advertising supported applications, will create new

stable, viable revenue models for many developers trying to implement

utility or productivity applications within corporate or educational

networks,” said Michael Staton, co-founder and Director of Product

Marketing, for Inigral. “As a thought leader in cross-platform

instructional technology, mobile learning and innovative educational

delivery, ACU offers fertile ground for the product’s first pilot.”

Abilene Christian University (ACU), a private liberal arts college in Texas

known for its visionary use of instructional technology, signed on as a

participant this Fall as Inigral’s first campus for the deployment of

“Schools.” A pilot was launched July 7th to limited summer courses.

“Social networks offer huge advantages to students, but have to be

approached with the privacy and safety of students in mind,” said Dr. Kyle

Dickson, assistant professor of English and scholar in residence for the

Adams Center for Teaching and Learning at ACU. “We’re excited to integrate

Inigral’s technology and deploy Schools within select classrooms and

student organizations to responsibly provide our students with valuable

information and relevant connections in their native habitat — Facebook.”

“Institutions are eager to leverage social applications for better campus

connectedness, yet they see the uncontrolled, public atmosphere of existing

platform applications as high risk,” said Justin Fishner-Wolfson, Principal

at Founders Fund. “But, an effective platform tool will emerge as an

important part of the university ecosystem. Inigral has developed a unique

private portal into popular online communities like Facebook and serves an

important niche providing students and faculty with crucial information

that improves the educational experience. We are excited with their

progress and potential.”

Inigral found early success when it launched “Courses” on the Facebook

platform. Courses still serves as the most popular Course Management

System available on the platform.
